We are holding a Parish Walk/Fun Run on Friday 27th July 2018, which will begin at St. Mary’s Church, Ballygunner at 7.00pm.  The purpose is to  encourage the whole community to participate and to highlight the World Meeting of Families .The event is in aid of Pieta House and the Parish Debt.

    There are prizes for the first 3 men and ladies home, and also for first over 40, 50 and 60 for men and ladies.  Cost per Individual runner/walker is €12.

    Individual runners and walkers can register via www.totaltiming.ie, or by calling the parish office 878977 or on the night at Ballygunner Scout hall, just 100m from the start line. Family registration for €20 is available on the night at the scout hall. Race number can be picked up at the scout hall from 5:30pm on the night.

    The run will start at Ballygunner Church at 7 pm, Friday July 27th and the route is as follows:

    Proceed down Ballygunner Hill, turning left onto the Dunmore Road at The Riverside Cottage (formerly Beckett Bar) Stay on the Dunmore road, up to the Waterford Regional Hospital roundabout, where we turn left and pass Tesco Ardkeen Shopping centre and onto the Williamstown road, Turn left onto the Williamstown road, heading back toward Ballygunner. Turn left after the Gaelscoil Ballygunner, down the hill and to the finish line at Ballygunner Church. Post race refreshments will be available at the scout hall

Our parish is the largest parish in the Diocese of Waterford & Lismore. The Central Statistics Office, records 13,751 Roman Catholics in our Parish. The Parish is situated in the south-east of Waterford City, it stretches from St Joseph & St Benildus Church on Newtown Road to St Mary’s Church in Ballygunner.

 We are a vibrant faith community with many people involved in Administrative, Liturgical, Formation, and Pastoral Ministries. Our Pastoral Centre, situated adjacent to St Joseph & St Benildus Church is a great resource for our community. Many social events take place here weekly.
